Community does not mean everyone has the same level of English,
the same CELBAN history, or the same learning needs.
It means, you do not have to travel this journey-path alone.
The CELBAN Help Centre Events provide a place for Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) and Internationally Educated Health Professionals (IEHPs) to learn alongside others who are navigating CELBAN preparation and professional integration in Canada.
Preparing for a professional life in a new country can involve a great deal of uncertainty.
You may be learning English. ✅
You may be learning Canadian healthcare communication. ✅
You may be preparing for CELBAN. ✅
You may be trying to understand what you need to improve. ✅
You may simply be trying to figure out where to begin. ✅
You do not have to have everything figured out before you join us. ✅
Community does not mean everyone has the same level of English, the same CELBAN history, or the same learning needs.
Some participants may be just beginning.
Others may have already taken CELBAN.
Some may be working while preparing.
Others may have more time available for study.
Some may know exactly what they need to work on.
Others may still be trying to understand what that is.
There is room for all of these starting points.
> A live session gives you the opportunity to hear questions you may not have thought to ask.
Someone else's experience may help you recognize something about your own.
A different way of approaching a skill may make something clearer.
> And sometimes, simply discovering that someone else is wrestling with the same uncertainty can make the journey feel a little less lonely.
Learning alongside others does not mean learning at the same pace.
It means having a place where learning can happen with other people, rather than entirely on your own.
You are welcome to bring questions. ✅
You are welcome to listen. ✅
You are welcome to participate actively or simply observe and learn. ✅
(Mind you more participation means that YOU are increasing your entry-to-practice skills instead of just watching others progress and succeed.)
You do not have to prove that you belong here. ✅
The purpose of the Events is to create a space where people can become more oriented, more informed, and more confident about their next steps.
The CELBAN Help Centre is not intended to rush you toward a particular course or purchase.
It is a place to learn before deciding.
You can explore the CLB framework. ✅
You can try a skill-development activity. ✅
You can reflect on what you can do. ✅
You can ask questions. ✅
You can begin to understand what kind of preparation may actually be useful to you. ✅
Sometimes the most important step is simply finding a place where you can begin.
The Events are intended to become more than a short series of sessions.
They are a place to gather, learn, ask questions, and stay connected as you move through your preparation.
September may be where you begin.
January may be where you take your next step.
And wherever you are in that journey, you are welcome to return.
The CELBAN Help Centre Events provide a place for IENs and IEHPs to learn alongside others navigating CELBAN preparation and professional integration in Canada.
Community does not require everyone to be at the same place.
It simply means that you do not have to prepare alone.
