What Kind of Questions Can Participants Bring?

You as a participant can bring questions about:

• CLB skills and competencies. ✅

• communication development. ✅

• healthcare communication. ✅

• preparation resources. ✅

• practice activities. ✅

• their own learning experiences. ✅

• deciding what they may need to develop next. ✅

You do not need to know exactly what your question is before you ask it.

Sometimes the question itself helps reveal what you need to understand.

Is There Always One Right Answer?

Not necessarily.

Some questions are factual and have a clear answer.

Others depend on:

• your current abilities. ✅

• your previous experience

• your CELBAN feedback. ✅. ✅

• your learning goals. ✅

• the particular skill you are developing. ✅

• the resource or approach you are considering. ✅

In these situations, the goal is not to give everyone the same answer.

The goal is to help you understand the factors that matter when making the decision towards developing professional judgement, which is one of the skills required to obtain higher CLB results.

Questions About Preparation Resources

You, as a participant, may also ask how to evaluate a book, course, practice test, coach, website, or AI-generated resource.

These questions are particularly important because not everything described as CELBAN preparation is necessarily based on the same understanding of CELBAN or the CLB framework.

A useful discussion might therefore ask:

• Who created this resource? ✅

• What framework does it use? ✅

• How does it relate to the CLB? ✅

• What skill is it actually developing? ✅

• Is it designed for the healthcare context? ✅

• What evidence supports its claims? ✅

• Does it address the ability I actually need to develop? ✅

The Purpose of Discussion

You may also leave with a better question.
