CELBAN.info Events = CELBANPrep Events = CELBAN Help Centre Events ≠ CELBANPrep University Coaching
CELBAN Help Centre Live Events/ CELBANPrep Events are interactive, participatory sessions rather than lectures that you simply watch. Depending on the topic, you may answer questions aloud or in the chat, complete individual activities, participate in speaking or writing activities, take part in role-play, complete self-assessments or quizzes, and receive feedback on your contributions.
There are no breakout rooms. Activities take place within the live group session, with opportunities for you to contribute and receive feedback from the facilitator and other participants.
Yes. Participation is an important part of the Events.
When an Event focuses on speaking, participants may participate in speaking activities or role-play as a healthcare professional or patient. When an Event focuses on writing, grammar, sentence structure, or Medical Collocations, you may complete writing activities and share your responses.
You may contribute verbally, through the chat, through written activities, or through other interactive activities depending on the topic.
When you actively participate in a speaking or writing activity, the facilitator can respond to your contribution within the group setting. Participants may also be invited to contribute to the feedback process and learn through peer-to-peer discussion.
This is individualized feedback within a live group environment. It is not one-on-one coaching or a private individual assessment.
For participants seeking more extensive individualized Speaking or Writing feedback, CELBANPrep University offers additional coaching and structured learning options through its Silver and Gold bundles.
No. The Live Events are not full CELBAN practice tests or mock examinations.
They do not provide full CELBAN-style examinations or simply reproduce CELBAN-style questions. Instead, activities may include CLB-based skill-development activities, quizzes, self-assessment, role-playing, grammar and Medical Collocation activities, and other opportunities to develop and practice individual communication skills.
The emphasis is on understanding, assessing, developing, and practicing communication skills, rather than memorizing examination questions.
No. Each Event has its own topic or focus.
Activities may include self-assessment, CLB-based skill development, speaking or writing activities, grammar, Medical Collocations, role-playing, quizzes, guided feedback, and discussion.
The particular activities depend on the focus of that Event. All Events are designed to be interactive, participatory, and experiential.
A conversational level of English is recommended so that you can follow the discussion and participate without being overwhelmed.
As a general guideline, CELBANPrep recommends a base level of approximately CLB or IELTS 5 or higher across reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
You do not need to have taken CELBAN or already be well prepared. Whether you are working at approximately CLB 5, 6, or 7, the Events can help you identify areas for further development.
No. You do not need to be enrolled in CELBANPrep University to attend a CELBANPrep/CELBAN Help Centre Live Event.
The Live Events and CELBANPrep University are separate but complementary learning environments.
No special preparation is required.
Come ready to participate, learn, pay attention, and ask questions. You may also want to bring:
a CELBAN feedback report, if you have previously taken CELBAN.
questions about a communication skill you are finding difficult.
something you have been practicing and would like to understand better.
questions about your own development needs.
If you are new to CELBAN and have not yet taken the test, you may find the FREE Virtual Tour useful before attending.
No. The Live Events provide opportunities for self-evaluation and identification of individual development needs, but they do not create a personalized study plan for each participant.
During an Event, you may use self-assessment activities to identify specific communication microskills that you can develop and practice.
Individualized learning and study planning are available within the structured learning environment of CELBANPrep University, including its Silver and Gold bundles.
The Live Events and University bundles are separate but complementary.
Live Events focus on live interaction, exploration, questions, discussion, skill awareness, and community.
Bronze focuses on orientation, information, and self-evaluation for people who are new to CELBAN.
Silver provides intensive self-directed skill development after taking the CELBAN and receiving CELBAN feedback with your report.
Gold provides deeper integrated professional development and CELBAN preparation.
The Live Events are therefore not another version of the Bronze, Silver, or Gold bundles.
