About CELBANPrep University

CELBANPrep University is a structured learning environment for Internationally Educated Nurses and other Internationally Educated Health Professionals developing the language, communication, and professional competencies needed for healthcare practice in Canada.

Its learning ecosystem has developed over time in response to the needs Kim has encountered in working with internationally educated health professionals.

Today, CELBANPrep University includes three learning pathways:

1. Bronze in the Information Centre
   Orientation, information, self-evaluation, and introductory resources.

2. Silver in the Resource Centre
   Self-directed CELBAN skill development in Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking.

3. Gold in the Learning Centre
   CELBAN/CLB competency, professional, and career-development learning.

How CELBANPrep University Fits Into the Larger Ecosystem

CELBANPrep University is the learning environment within the broader CELBANPrep educational ecosystem.

1. CELBAN.info is the CELBAN Help Centre, which is the knowledge and information environment.

2. CELBANPrep Publishing is the publishing arm, publishing books, workbooks, guides, and other educational publications.

3. CELBANPrep is the broader educational practice from which these environments have developed.

4. CELBANPrep University is where structured learning takes place.

This distinction matters because learning about CELBAN, preparing for CELBAN, developing communication skills, and pursuing professional development are related; but, they are not necessarily the same learning activity.

What Kind of Learner Is CELBANPrep University For?

CELBANPrep University is designed for learners who want more than information.

It provides opportunities to:

• understand the CLB framework and its application through CELBAN. ✅

• develop specific communication skills. ✅

• practise using those skills. ✅

• reflect on their own development. ✅

• and continue developing professionally beyond an immediate examination goal. ✅
